The anaerobic adhesive is designed to lock and seal fasteners. Once the sealant filled up the clearance completely, it will turn into insoluble high polymer due to oxygen shortage so as to prevent the fasteners from moving because of external forces. Bond lines have strong vibration absorption and sealing performance. Compared to conventional sealing approach, such as sealing with spring washers, double nuts and etc, it is easy to operate and more reliable. What’s more, this new technique can simplify the manufacturing process so as to improve work efficiency. In the event that there are many double nuts on the engine blocks, in order to lock and seal the nuts, in most cases, blind holes are required, but with anaerobic sealant, which will be substituted with through-holes, and no need to worry about leakage.

The destabilizing moment and average disassembly moment are detected on M10-2 bolts and nuts without clamping force after 24 hours of curing.
