1 International Situation
Among the commodities sold in the markets of the European Economic Area (European Union, EFTA member countries, except Switzerland), the use of the CE mark is increasing. The commodities with the CE mark indicate that they meet the requirements expressed in a series of European directives such as safety, health, environmental protection and consumer protection.
2 Mark certification
The CE certification mark is not issued by any official authority, certification authority or testing laboratory, but shall be made and affixed by the manufacturer or its agent according to one (or a mixture) of the above eight modes.
Some products officially stipulated by the European Union can be affixed with the CE mark only after obtaining the CE certificate with the announcement number issued by the EU official agency (announcement number agency).
3 Sign responsibility
The manufacturer or its agent, or the importer of EU member states must be responsible for the correctness of the CE certification mark.
4 Accepted objects
The object of acceptance of the CE certification mark is the national regulatory authority of the member states of the European Community responsible for implementing market product safety control, not the customer. When a product has been attached with the CE certification mark, the authority of the member states responsible for sales safety supervision should assume that it meets the main requirements of the Directive and can circulate freely in the European Community market.
5 Signage
The abbreviation of CE certification is used as a symbol to indicate that the product with the CE certification mark complies with the main requirements specified in the relevant European Directives, and is used to verify that the product has passed the corresponding conformity assessment procedures and/or the manufacturer's declaration of conformity, and has really become a pass for the product to be allowed to enter the European Community market for sale. The industrial products with CE certification mark required by the relevant directive shall not be marketed without CE certification mark. The products with CE certification mark on the market shall be ordered to withdraw from the market if they are found not meeting the safety requirements. Those who continue to violate the provisions of the directive on CE certification mark will be restricted or prohibited from entering the EU market or forced to withdraw from the market.
6 Non acceptance countries
The United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, etc. do not accept the CE mark.
7 Existing Directives
The applicable products of the issued directives are as follows:
From July 1, 2013, the Construction Products Directive - 89/106/EEC - CPD will be replaced by the 305/2011/EU-CPR Regulation. The EU will enforce the latest construction product regulation (305/2011/EU-CPR) from July 1, 2013. Compared with the old CPD construction product directive (89/106/EEC-CPD), the CPR regulation is more strict. It has made new requirements for traders, importers and distributors and other links related to product circulation. Construction products involving health, safety and environmental protection will be affixed with CE marks before entering the EU market.
